Magglio's Coming To Town

Sorry about the lack of updates. There really hasn't been much to write about.

There is some HUGE news right now. While the Detroit Tigers are resting up during the All-Star break, right fielder Magglio Ordoñez will be rehabbing with the 'Caps tonight at Fifth Third Ballpark. This will be the second time this season that a current Detroit Tiger will rehab with the Whitecaps.

Crummy Second Half Start

After clinching a playoff spot in the first half, the West Michigan Whitecaps are off to a crummy start in the second half. They have lost 4 of their first 5 games so far.

I won't go into any details because there's not a whole lot to say about these games.

The 'Caps lost 3 of 4 from the South Bend Silver Hawks. On Thursday they lost 6-1, 5-4 on Saturday, and 9-1 on Sunday. West Michigan's lone victory came on Friday night, 8-5.

The road trip continued for West Michigan in Fort Wayne. In game one, the 'Caps lost again, this time 7-0. They only managed 4 hits. They also committed 3 errors. Whitecaps pitching also allowed 11 walks as well. Game two of the series is 7:00 pm eastern tonight.

The Whitecaps announced that Joe Tucker is back from AA Erie. They've also announced that catcher Adrian Casanova is going to Erie. Catcher Angel Flores is back with the 'Caps after a brief stint at Erie.
