Over 10,000 fans came to Fifth Third Ballpark to see Detroit Tigers center fielder Curtis Granderson and the West Michigan Whitecaps on Friday night. However the visiting Burlington Bees didn't care and beat the 'Caps 3-0. It was the second time the 'Caps have been shut out this season.
Granderson was the Whitecaps' lone bright spot. He was 2-4 and tripled. He was later thrown out at home trying to score on a contact play. Justin Henry and Joe Tucker were the only other 'Caps to get a hit.
Whitecaps starting pitcher Manny Miguelez took the loss. He pitched 6 innings, allowed 2 homers, allowed 4 hits, walked a batters, and struck out 7. Andrew Hess pitched 2 innings and allowed a run. Rudy Darrow pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
These two teams will play tomorrow at Fifth Third Ballpark. Game time 2:00pm eastern.
